well i believe it's a data problem but how can i check to see which is which?
If it's data, chkdsk or something like EaseUS's Partition Master will usually take care of it. If it's simply a physical error, neither of these methods will fix the problem. If your slowdown is significant, I'd suspect physical damage as more likely.

when i try to use the chkdsk command in the cmd on drive C nothing happens when i try to launch EaseUS still nothing happens when the hdd is connected when i remove it the program launches every time i try to right click on the C drive the pc freezes so i guess it's physical?
