I have a 64 GB SD card for my phone but there it has a corrupted file that blocks me from deleting the file or reformatting the card. Can anything be done about this or is the card a goner?

Solution
OR the alternative way is
This means may be the format was not successful
Then you have to format it again
1) Open turn your cpu on, attach the memory card
2) click on start menu right click Computer and select manage
3) Now a separate window will appear, on the top left corner of it click on the Disk Managment under Storage in the list
4) A Disk should be listed side to the Disk 1 in the middle-bottom page Note: a black bar is attached on it ,that is your memory card, you need to again right click on it and click format
5) wait till its complete then rightclick on it and select assign

Thanks for the suggestion but these solutions don't seem tom apply. I've been using the card for more than a year and have reached a point where only 10GB remain open. When I tried to sync another GB of stuff, it didn't show up so I decided to reformat and start over. That's when I discovered it wouldn't reformat so I used a card reader to delete files. However, there are two apparently corrupted files that won't delete and don't want to let me delete anything else either.

Thanks for responding though. Any other ideas!

You're probably correct. Maybe the suspect files are merely located at a bad spot. Thanks.

Thanks for the update and good luck with the format. You should still be able to RMA it with the manufacturer I would think. Just about every card I see has 5yr or more warranty.

It may be mean that you have to format it completly, then try this one

Click on start menu, type diskpart in the search box,and click on the diskpart, under program bar that will appear

(NOTE:Just your memory card and keyboard and mouse were to be stay connected untill its done)

Now a screen with black background will appear
you will see a line written DISKPART_
now type- list disk ,then press enter
A list of disk will appear , under Size search for your memory volume(if its 8GB then it will be written like 8192MB),and search for its corresponding name under Disk ###

Type- select disk 1 ,press enter key
NOTE:IF YOUR MEMORY IS listed AS Disk1 then type select disk 1,if listed disk2 then type select disk2 likewise
Type: clean ,press enter key
wait for some time after cleaning is complete you will see the DISKPART_ again

Type: create partition primary , press enter key
Type: format fs=ntfs , press enter key
Now wait untill format completes

NOW the final one
Type:assign ,press enter key
wait for a message to show "disk part has succeded in assigning"
now remove your memorycard and have fun
