Hey guys,

I've been experiencing ridiculously high ping while gaming lately so I'm trying to improve things by forwarding my ports. When I select 'Port Forwarding & Triggering' I get a 404 error. Here's a screenshot.

The Router is a Netgear WNR1000 connected my PC with an Ethernet cable. (Modem is a Motorola Surfboard if that's relevant.)

Can someone please help me out?

your router itself could be going bad. I know at times when the config pages give you issues it could me an issue with that. Try looking for an updated firmware maybe and upload it?

If all else fails you can try install DDWRT firmware if you are tech savy at all.
Sounds like an issue with the router. Maybe try doing a factory reset on it and setting it back up?

Also high ping has nothing to do with port fowarding and won't help you out even if you did. Ping is the Quality of line connection. You can still have 10Mbps but have a really bad ping because the line quality is bad or because too may people are using the internet at once.

Thanks for the reply. I've already tried doing a factory reset but it didn't help. I'm pretty sure the ping issue must be related to the router somehow because when I connect my modem directly to my PC or consoles instead of through the router, my ping goes back to normal (20ms as opposed 1000ms). If port forwarding wont solve the problem, what will?
