Question Can't get 144Hz with Radeon R9 290X ?

I recently got a new 144hz monitor and the maximum refresh rate on my system is 120hz, tried 3 HDMI cables still didn't give me 144Hz.
I have it set up in the monitor menu and and it stil nothing... Also tryed a custom res that didn't work neither.
But when i tested the monitor on another system the refresh rate was set to 144hz automatically. (tested the other cables as well to make sure)
Starting to think that the gpu might be the case or i'm missing something else ?

MB: MSI A320 PRO-VH PLUS
CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g
GPU: R9 290x
RAM: 16GB Dual-Channel DDR4

iGPU it's dissabled in bios, the hdmi it's in the GPU not in the motherboard.

what color settings 10 or 8bit are you on?

its a Samsung monitor, i have tested it on another system the monitor worked fine without any adjustments with different cables i have, they all work fine but on my end its another story.

what color settings 10 or 8bit are you on?

i have reinstalled the drivers countless times. I even went to the support page and downloaded the monitor drivers aswell
