I recently re-installed win98, monitor went through plug n play setup, but now i cant get 256 colours , only 16 colour/2 colour , looks orrible'.
I re-installed the hyundai driver for it from their website, (yes..correct one).
the adaptor driver says "standard PCI graphics adaptor VGA" , i tried to update the driver from MSFT but it says "the most current driver is already installed".
HELP !!!, how do i get back to 256 colour screen ?
Does the "VGA" graphics properties mean i only have a VGA graphics driver ?.
The manual for the board says "BX Pro 100 MHZ", and refers to the graphics as a (built in)"64 bit 3D AGP graphics accelerator ,with 8 Meg frame buffer"
the brand is "PC100"
The current graphics adaptor is described as;
Manufacturer. "Standard type" (lol)
Software version. "version 4.0"
File type. "vga.drv.vdd"
there is nothing more i can find , appreciate your help thanks. :)

Try using the "specify the location of the driver" selection and make it give you a list to choose from.

yes...i do that,i go through the whole install routine, using both the system board CD , and also WIN98 drivers, but even if a get a driver of some kind to install,the machine reboots,but when it boots up the adaptor goes back to 16 bit colour, when i change it to 256 colour,of course i have to reboot to apply the 256colour, but again,it reverts back to 16 colour.grrrrr 🙁 lol.
If i try to install the correct driver from system board CD, when i click on "drive:display:vga" it will not open the vga folder...nothing happens.
