I've tried for the past hour to get my gpu out to be replaced. Looked at all possible guides, tried all possible things. All I can see that could be prohibiting me is a switch that won't move and some guards on top of the PCI-E that won't budge. Please keep in mind that I'm new to this, and also pretty stupid. Some pictures attached hopefully showing my problem.

The guards: http://imgur.com/MR0Sql8

Thanks for help in advance.

You have to unscrew the Philips screw holding the metal 'guard' to the case. On the opposite side of the card, down near the motherboard there is sometimes a latch that snaps 'in' to hold that end of the videocard into the slot. There should be a small flat part of the latch that you can push down on to unlatch it. Then you might have to wiggle the videocard a little to pull it out of the slot.

The pink arrow points to the latch I mean. When the card goes in, the latch snaps into place, to unlock you push down on it.
