Every time I boot up my computer I get this message: "All setting were reset to default values. The previous over clock settings have failed, system has been restored to its default setting. Press F1 to run setup. Press F2 to load default values and run setup".

I keep getting stuck at a black screen when I press either F1 or F2. I read on another thread and someone said that the motherboard battery might have to be replaced. I already tried and nothing has changed. Lastly, the CPU was previously overclocked to 3.8 ghz with the built in MSI software.

Thanks for the help.

Try shorting the cmos pins on the motherboard, read the insturction manual to locate this, short them with something like a metal tiped screwdriver. It will be labeled "reset cmos" or "clear cmos" or something similar. This will wipe all bios settings back to factory and should boot fine

I just tried that. Now it brings me to a similar screen to what I originally encountered. It still say press F1 and F2, but now its also showing the ram speed and size, CPU type and speed, and Sata devices.

When I hit F1 or F2 it still brings me to black screen. If I turn off the computer then back on it stays on the screen that shows the big MSI logo (the screen you usually see for one second during boot up).
