Question Can't get PC to log into Windows

My wife passed away recently and I am having issues logging into her PC. I was able to use the PC yesterday and today Windows won't let me get into the PC. I have reset her pin and her password for Microsoft and I still get the message that it can't log me in. I keep getting the message on the start screen "Unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later." I am stuck and don't know what I need to do to regain access to our financial information, etc. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated as I am very confused. Thank you.
