Question Can't get SAS SSDs to work on Windows 10

Hi,

I've purchased 2 Seagate st960fm0013 1 TB SAS SSDs.
I'm using HP Z420 workstation. I also purchased LSI 9217 SAS controller.

When I connect the disks I can see them in the LSI utility (before BIOS start up) but can't seem to create a RAID 0 volume - when I try to create the screen just shuts with no error but I can see that no volume had been created.
I OK with using the disks as normal disks (not RAID) but can't seem to do that as well.

I can see both disks in the disk management but it seems they need to be initialized. When I try to initialize them I get a popup window with "access is denied" message (popup header is Virtual Disk Manager).

I'm not sure I've installed the correct driver of the controller and maybe I also need to flash a firmware for the controller - not sure.

I'm a true newbie with RAID and SAS disks....

Can someone please try to direct me what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Amil.

Actually I can live without Raid. The thing is that I'll still need the SAS controller as the SSDs are SAS, not SATA.

What should I do in order to use them as is and not in an array?
