Can't get to BIOS menu, Windows XP

Sorry, I don't know what the computer model is because I bought it from a random store. I tried to do a system reboot a while ago and probably messed up one of the steps. Now I can't get into BIOS. Instead I'm always redirected to a black screen that tells me to "Reboot and Select proper Boot device". When I insert my CD for windows setup, it says no hard ware is found. What do I do? Thanks.

Do a cmos reset - Google it!

try pressing these buttons ! although . i run at AMI bios so my current setup utility key is DEL ! so try pressing DEL repeatedly or F10,F11,F12 or F2 thats the main key for bios setup utility

also check your hard drive for errors because the hard drive is responsible for your operating system to boot
