Can't initialize new SSD?

I just installed 2 new SSDs in my PC and I'm trying to enable them but I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing. From my google search I see I should be selecting initialize disc but I don't have that option. All I see is New Spanned Volume or New Striped Volume.

You have to click on unallocated space. Then you'll get option for simple volume.

Awesome, I wasn't sure if that's what I click because I saw in another post an option that said "Initialize".

Do you know why there's a decent bit of space missing from both drives? The Mx300 should be 525 and it's only showing 489, the 850 Evo should have 1TB and it's showing 931.

That's conversion math.
525'000'000'000/1024/1024/1024=488.9GB
1000'000'000'000/1024/1024/1024=931.3GB
