Can't install directx on Windows 10

Hi, I can't seem to install directx june 2010 release on windows 10. I've downloaded it from the microsoft site, but whenever I run the DXSETUP.exe file, it seems to open the normal installation window yet it immediatly closes it real quick. I've tried running it under various compatibility modes to no avail. The reason why I'm doing this is because some games are asking for it. Anyone else had this problem? Thank you

this may not apply but its worth a look: look to see if you have later versions of the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable on your pc, if you do you need to remove them before you can put the one on you want to, and then replace the ones you removed. This weird issue got solved by uninstalling every single piee of nvidia drivers. After that, I installed only the graphic drivers, bypassing all those forceful 3d view and physx drivers. Only then i could succesfully install the newer directx version. Thanks a lot for the fast reply, though. You guys rock
