[SOLVED] Cant Install kb4052623 Update

I hope someone can help me. My mom recently got a new laptop and I have set everything up for her. But I cant update windows. I think I may have installed malwarebytes too soon and now I cant update Windows Defender (kb4052623). I have gone to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4052623 and the .exe files will not load. I checked AppLocker and there is nothing there. I am at a loss and don't know what to do. I keep googling and finding no solutions. Can anyone help me?

In cmd as admin run this "/sfc scannow".

I ran it. No issues 100%. Tried to run update this time and it actually started installing this time but quit at 0%. I keep trying again and it won't run the install. it just keeps saying Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.

Sounds like Windows missed the security patch installing. May need to reinstall

I was thinking I was going to have to do that. Do you think it's because I installed malwarebytes before updated windows?

No. That didn’t cause the issue

which version of win 10

1. right click start
   
2. choose run...
   
3. type winver and press enter
   
4. current version is 21H1
   

if you on 21H1, try https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html instead of a clean install. worth a try

Thanks for the replies. I'm just going to wipe everything and re-install Windows and drivers this upcoming weekend. She doesn't need all that extra stuff (bloat) that came with it anyways. All she does is email and shop. But this time I will complete the Windows updates first with a wired connection. Then setup router, malwarebytes, etc

Don't use an old installer, make a new one as less updates to get afterwards then
On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

boot from installer

Yes and no som people prefer older installs because they know how to make that particular update stable
