Question Can't install MariaDB

I have tried installing MariaDB multiple times and it always goes through without problems but the only thing it actually installs is HeidiSQL. What i actually want is the "MySQL Client (MariaDB)"

I don't get what your saying. What i wanna know is why i can't get the MySQL client that should come with the install of MariaDB server. When i tried installing it to another computer the client came as it should but it doesn't come when installing it to my laptop.

"Other computer": OS ? Edition/version?

My thought is that the MariaDB install is seeing some difference between the computer and laptop. As a result of that difference, MariaDB may be rolling back to an older or different software version that uses the "HeidiSQL" client.

And not, if I am following correctly, the MySQL client as you expect.

Consider reinstalling MariaDB on the laptop and watch closely - there may be some option to chose MySQL client vs HeidiSQL.

And take a closer look into the MariaDB options on the laptop. You may be able to select or change the desired client after the install is complete.
