I recently built a PC and tried to install windows 10 Pro. I'm able to select a keyboard type, region, and put in the product key and everything works fine. After restart, one of four things will happen:
1: The spinning wheel and words "please wait" will appear for 10-20 minutes before the pc restarts itself and brings back up the wheel. After 3 or 4 times, the computer just sits at a black screen.
2: The spinning wheel will appear and after a couple of minutes, the pc will crash without displaying an error
3: Windows will say it encountered an error that an update may fix it. I click next to start the update and the pc restarts
4: Occasionally the "please wait" and spinning wheel will end and I'll be booted to the desktop without completing the rest of the setup. Nothing is clickable on this desktop and the screen will go black for a moment before coming back if you try.
I've tried using different motherboards, ram, installing from different usb boot devices, and installing to different hard drives. Current PC specs are:
i9-9900k
EVGA 1080ti SC
ASUS Maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi
Addlink s70 1tb NVME
SanDisk SSD Plus 2tb
G.Skill TridentZ RGB 2x16gb 3000MHz
I have also tried using a MSI B360 Gaming Plus motherboard because I had one and figured it didn't hurt to rule out some weird motherboard issue as the culprit.
