I am reviving my old desktop computer which has a ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard in it. Everything worked fine before when I had the OS (Windows 7) installed on a SataII hard drive but now I am trying to put the OS on a Hybrid SATAII drive and I keep getting the error:

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may no support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the BIOS menu."

I've tried everything I can think of. Running it in SATA and IDE mode. GPT and MBR. and even installing the SATA driver during the windows install. Nothing helps. Any idea?

As far as I know if a mobo supports a SATA drive a hybrid SATA drive should be just as well supported.
