Can't interact with desktop?

I've seen a similar thread on here, but that didn't help me very much, so I'll start a new one.

My Windows 10 laptop isn't really working correctly. I can log on and move my mouse around, but when I try to click on any of my apps or shortcuts nothing happens. Does anyone have any clue what's going on?

First check whether your mouse left click and right click buttons are working fine. -- check is some other PC.

Scan for virus - if any threat is found remove it.
check for windows update. And driver update

try loading windows in safe mode.-- and check
