cant launch nvidia control panel after sounblaster xfi upgrd

after removing my old sb live and all of its related software and upgrading to the new x-fi i am no longer able to launch the new nvidia control panel. it only works in the old classic mode. every time i try to launch the new version i get a windows error asking me to send the error to microsoft. i removed and reinstalled the nvidia drivers, used driver clean, re installed dx and nothing seems to work. i am running a 7800 gs agp on a samsung syncmaster 225bw.

fixed it ! turns out it had nothing to do with the sound card. 2 days ago i updated my magic tune software for the samsung lcd. the newest version was conflicting with the nvidia control panel. removed the magic tune and all is well. installed the older version of magic tune and everything works fine.
