I recently got windows 8.1 on my NVIDIA Geforce computer and I wanted to load my Nvidia Control Panel but I can't. There is a game I can't play so I have to configure a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel but I can't open the panel. I found someone say to look at the Action Center and finish updating drivers and programs. After doing that, I still can't open it but it used to say Nvidia display settings are not available and now it doesn't. Please help!

I got the solution! What I did was I went back to the website, clicked the [Automatically find download for your driver] but I had to first reinstall Java to load up the website.. Then, I downloaded my display driver and clicked clean download and it first uninstalled my NVIDIA display driver and restarted my laptop. After, I ran the download again and it downloaded the NVIDIA display driver again and I was able to use the control panel. I selected [High-performance NVIDIA processor] in the Preferred graphics processor. Then, I was able to configure the 3D Settings. The problem is that I only have 3D settings in my NVIDIA Control Panel. Is that okay? I think it's fine already since I only care about 3D Settings. Thanks so much for your...

I do have it. I just restarted my computer, updated the drivers to make sure everything was okay, and my control panel started. The only problem is is that I can't change any of the settings (they are grey) and the control panel only shows 3d settings. Is there a fix to this? In order to make one of my games work, I had to make it run ONLY on my Nvidia graphics card but I still want to fix the control panel problem. It says "NVIDIA 3D settings are no compatible with integrated graphics". I have Nvidia Graphics card and a intel core so is that the problem. Do I have to disable something?

I have a question on how to use this. When I extracted the file, I got a folder called settings. When I went in it, I went to NVIDIA and then what do I do? It says I should use the driverfiles.cfg but what will happen when I use it? How do I put it in safe mode? Is there a different Display Driver Uninstaller I could use? After I do uninstall the display driver, how do I install it back? Will there be a website or will the computer install it automatically?

You can go to nvidia's website to download it again. To get safe mode press f8/f12 and it will take you to advanced/regular seeting where you will see safe mode. put it in safe mode with networking so you can go on the internet. You could try cc cleaner its free and great at removing files, registrys, etc. If you use the driverfiles.cfg it probably will have a walkthorugh if not nvidia should have instructions.

To make sure I got this all down, I will type out what I will do.
1. Restart my computer and go into the safe mode (pressing f8 and f12 isn't bring the settings).
2. I will use the driverfiles.cfg to remove my display driver.
3. Restart my computer again to make sure it is removed.
4. Come back on in safe mode again to install the Nvidia Display Driver.

One thing, is it really necessary to go into safe mode? I'm scared I will mess up and delete something else by accident with the driverfiles.cfg. And, couldn't I go into the control panel and use the Nvidia uninstaller there? It looks as good:

You can system restore if you mess up thats a good windows feature basically if you installed a virus or something it will COMPLETLEY remove the virus and anything in the alloted time. so lets say on the 1/14/15 you install a virus use system restore and go to 1/13/15 and the virus is gone.

Okay got it. I will do a recovery point on windows. Then, I will use the control panel uninstall version and install it again. It will take some time since I will do it slowly and carefully to make sure I got everything right. Thanks for all the help.

I was just trying to do it last night but I have one problem - I searched the Nvidia website but I can't find the driver fit for my computer. Can you help me find the newest driver? My Display Driver: NVIDIA Geforce GT 750M I have Windows 8.1 and A Lenovo computer.

Sorry. It took me a long time to find this: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6968890
It is Lenovo 20216
I don't know if this is really worth the trouble because I don't want to screw it up despite having the recovery point. The one game that's having trouble is Minecraft where the rendering is messed up because of both of the drivers. But, all I have to do is run it with Nvidia graphics card and it will fix the problem. Should I continue, and if not, I'm really sorry for wasting two days of your time. It won't be very hard uninstalling it and then reinstalling it and it might just fix up the trouble and save me time later on. I feel like I should continue.

Okay but can you please give me the link of my display driver download? I'm having trouble finding it on the NVIDIA website. Or is it that when I uninstall it, my computer will automatically download it or my Geforce Experience will?

The problem is that the website doesn't show my GT750M. Will Geforce Experience install my display driver for me when I uninstall it?

well im glad you found a solution but if you only care about 3d settings then it doesnt matter and you could just play around with it later.
