When I create a new limited account (or activate the Guest account)
the creation/activation seems to work but subsequent login attempts
fail with the following error message:

>Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, or that your network is functioning correctly. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator

I *am* running a small home network here (two machines) but everything
else related to the network seems to work OK. Shared files/folders
and printers all seem to be working just fine.

Any suggestions would be much aprreciated.

Not intentionally, which should mean "no", as I did the setup myself
and it sounds unlikley that I could stumble into that by accident.

Sorry,

Didn't read your original message properly, you would know if you were in a
domain setup so I assume your not.

In that case I would say its a permissions problem, probably either on the
c: drive or your documents and settings folder (where the local profiles are
stored)

Right click on the both (one at a time) then go to the security tab and
ensure that either the account or the group that the account belongs to has
modify permissions on both.

Also make sure there are no deny entries that might prevent access.

Let me know how it goes,

Barry
