Can't open file in windows after transferring data from ubuntu (file refers to a location that is not available

Hello,

I had a data folder transferred from an ubuntu public computer to my portable hard drive. When I try to open that file in my windows 7 PC, there was no folder available any more (it was missed). The folder size in ubuntu is different from windows size, a little more, its really important and force for ne to solve it. Do you have any suggestions for this issue?
