I don't understand. I had some perfect thing planned to help him out and my post was DELETED. What the heck? I'm sorry I just honestly forgot you could tag photos onto here, so in my head, the only thing I could think of to send photos was through Google+...

Don't worry about it, images if needed can be posted here, you were trying to help in the right way, it would just be better on here, I doubt that the poster has done anything that tens of people haven;t done before and will do again, so lets solve it out in the open.

Looks like a standoff issue. Assuming that the backplate doesn't have dimples.

It was someone else who had bits deleted, you did nothing 'wrong'.

It can be quite bad if the backplate does not come with stand offs built in as raised areas.

Alright. Well, I know I made a mistake, but I am only a few days old on here in terms of actually contributing to forum threads, so I just now realized that we were able to post pictures on HERE. That's why I made that mistake. But, anyway.

I'm a bit confused. I understand why you guys suspect the MoBo stand-offs, but he/she flat out said that the PC just didn't seem like it was getting any power. Did anyone stop to think that maybe something was plugged in incorrectly? Or there was a short caused by something ELSE? Or maybe the PSU just flat out wasn't turned on? I know, it seems like that would all be obvious, but for a first time builder of a PC, it's easy to make the dumbest mistakes, embarrassing or not. We are all computer builders, right? We should all remember our first time. My first time, I accidentally tried putting the RAM modules in the PCI lanes (I had no graphics card at the time, ran on an iGPU) and I also flip-flopped the power-switch connector and the reset-switch connector on the front panel header on the motherboard.
