So I just recently cleaned up and turned on our old dell dimension 4700 pc.

Couldnt get our ethernet cable to work (idk if its with the port or the cable itself) so instead used a usb wifi dongle.

Got it connected to the internet and even updated avast. I can do google searches but open webpages. All i get is the "The page cannot be displayed." page.

System time is up to date, dns settings are on auto. Im not really sure what else to do

-It runs on Windows XP Professional ver. 5.1.2600 SP2 build 2600
-the wifi usb dongle im using is a TL-WN321G USB Wireless Adapter

Support for XP has been long gone. I doubt that your "Explorer" is of a supported version and wouldn't think that a modern Chrome installer would work.

With that said...I have successfully loaded W10 onto one of these. The use case I have it for is to keep my mothers internet connection alive. She uses it so infrequently that it will go inactive. Browsing on or attempting to use it for anything is quite exhaustive.
