Cant overclock Core 2 Quad Q9550

Hello,

I just overclocked my Q9550 to 3.00GHz and task manager is also showing 3.00GHz, But the clock speed isn't going higher than 2.60 ~ 2.70GHz. Can anyone tell me why?

CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550
Motherboard: Gigabyte 965P-DQ6
RAM: 8GB
GPU: 1050TI

It's all good, just the Win 10 Task Manager is trash.

well, it doesn't feel right. So i think i will just hope its going to 3GHz.

With this motherboard you should easily overclock this CPU to 3 GHZ. Just in case I'd recommend to go into bios and double-check everything.

I've seen task manager misreport clocks before, have you checked them with cpuz?

just checked it, It is going up to 3000MHz.
