Can't play multiplayer games

I'm connected by an ethernet cable to my university network. All other online functions work fine. Not sure where to start to fix. Thank you for your help.

Could be your university is blocking game websites.

All that gaming traffic may interfere with academic requirements.

If other people are able to game then check with the university's IT support team.

They likely only allow ports used by the web browser. Most online games use special ports for their communication. To make support simpler many time only thing that run in the browser are allowed. You would have to ask them if they have any restriction on their network and why.

From a network standpoint netflix used much more bandwidth than games but it is not uncommon for schools to block games but not netflix.
