I am trying to get my Cannon Pixma MG6650 to print using my Wireless Network. My Router is a Netgear N300.

I am running Win Ten Pro 64 and i think i have the correct driver from Cannon. But i can't get it to connect so i can use Wireless printing. It says Printer Offline or there was an Error.

Any ideas? Thank You

I went to Canon's website and found this link:

http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg6650.aspx?type=drivers&language=EN&os=WINDOWS 10 (64-bit)

(I am using Windows 10 (64 bit) which was identified as such by Canon's website.

May or may not be a country "thing" with respect to the driver availability.

Download the MG6650 User Manual and work through (read in advance) the wireless setup procedures. You may need to do some initial setup work using a wired connection. Then the printer's control panel to switch over to wireless.

Overall you will probably be best served by setting up a reserved static IP for the printer outside of the assigned DHCP IP address range alloted to the router. If not familiar with that then read the router manual as well.

Plan it all out as best you can and then methodically set it up. Keep notes and be sure to carefully read and understand any configuration choices you make or error/warning messages that appear.

At least get the printer to work in a wired mode to start with if necessary.

See what happens and post more accordingly.

Couple of side notes: be patient - sometimes it takes the router and printer a bit of time to find each other via wireless. Know how to move between the menu screens on the printer and where the various network settings are found. Can be cumbersome....

Also: wireless printing can be much slower than wired. Some features on the Cannon may not be fully functional or supported via wireless. May not be as much of a problem with newer models.

I ran the WPS Wizard from my router this time to see if that would make any odds. The Printer said it had detected the access point as before. Then i tried Setup again and changed the connection to Wiireles. It says it cant find the Printer on the Network the same as before.

Since you already have an existing wireless network you should be connecting the printer using the "Connection Using an Access Point" where the access point is your existing router.

The other wireless option is "Connection without an Access Point" where the printer communicates with other devices directly - meaning not going through the router.

The printer may see/detect the access point but cannot join your wireless network. That is probably because of a configuration error. The printer must get its assigned IP (dynamic or static) from the router. To do that, the printer must know the router's IP (default is 192.168.0.1) unless you have changed that. The printer must also have the correct SSID and matching security settings for your network.

Use your browser to check the router's configuration. Make sure you know its IP, submasking, DHCP range, security settings, etc. You should not have to make any changes on the router to get the printer to connect unless there is some limit being imposed: e.g., the number of devices permitted to connect at one time.

Wizards are okay but they depend on the existence of certain assumptions about their environment.

Do a reset on the printer to go back to all default settings - that will give you a "clean start" on the configuration.

Then go to the printer's menu's and find the LAN setup screens. There are menus for wireless connectivity. Set up the printer's wireless configuration to match your network.
