can't re-install M Office PP 2010

Had my hard drive cleaned and Vista re-installed but without SP1 and updates turned off (Windows updates were causing big problems) Now I can't reinstall M Office PP 2010 - message saying need Vista SP1 - but I don't want to risk this and update problems again just to have M Office back again. Any ideas?

Office 2010 requires Vista SP1.

@USAFret - Thanks. Yes looks like no getting away from re-installing SP1 at least, if I want to re-install my M Office PP. Might just stay with Open Office and not go back to the Vista SP and updates - don't want to risk the same crash these updates caused before.

You do need those updates and SPs. Those are put out to combat certain vulnerabilities in the OS. Without them...you're a target with no defenses.
