I am trying to copy something FROM my 1TB internal hard drive TO my external hard drive, and when it gets to a certain point, it always says "Can't read from the source file or disk" and it'll name a certain file that can't be read.

I have read that this may mean the drive may contain bad sectors and is bad, so my question is, is it my internal hard drive or my external hard drive that has bad sectors?

Again I am trying to copy something already on my internal drive to my external drive.

The 1TB drive is new I just bought it from Newegg and the external drive I have had for a while and it already has alot of files on there. I am thinking this may be the 1TB drive but I just wanna make sure on here first before I RMA it or anything.

Thanks for any help.

Well no just sometimes it gives me that error at an earlier point and sometimes it gets past that point but will give me an error again for a different file.

It is a storage drive, I have an SSD as boot drive. And it is asking if I want to force a dismount on the drive because it's in use by another process?

I think I am just gonna RMA it and get a new one because I just tried to backup games from Steam before I run chkdsk and was waiting for a game to finish updating before I could back it up and it comes up with an error in steam saying (Disk write error).
