Hi

I'm building a 2007-ish computer and just bought this board. I want to apply fresh thermal paste to the north- and southbridge, but I can't remove the heatsink on the southbridge. I have loosened the two plastic screws so that's not the problem.
Am I supposed to remove this? Is it because of old dry thermal paste or is it simply not possible to remove?

Solution
The SB uses thermal tape/pad that's self adhesive, not paste. The only thing that's really ever been modded for that heatsink is the inclusion of something like a 20-40mm micro fan, and thats only in cases where that particular heatsink for some reason is being overworked.
