Can't revert CPU core speed overclocking to default GHz

I had overclocked my CPU from the default 3.8GHz to 4.2GHz months ago, but once I encountered some stuttering and freezes in games that seemed to be caused by the overclock, I decided to revert to pre-OC settings.

I went through OCing steps and reverted CPU settings in BIOS to default values, however both CPU-Z and BIOS still show the CPU running between 4.0-4.1GHz. I also tried loading BIOS defaults, but that didn't seem to change anything either.

Which settings should I look for specifically to make sure I haven't missed anything in reverting the OC effects?

Solution
You are good.
What you are seeing is a higher multiplier turbo on a few cores.
It will apply to a few cores when the thermals allow it.
