Can't run 144hz monitor above 100hz when connecting a second 60hz monitor.

I cannot set my refresh rate above 100hz in nvidia control panel. When I disable the second monitor then I can select 144hz no problem. I have a gtx760 and the latest drivers. The monitor is an ASUS ROG PG278Q.


I have a display port cable, and I have tried setting perform scaling onto GPU, and I have tried setting them to the same resolutions. The asus is on a PC resolution of 2560x1440 (default), the other LG monitor is connected by hdmi and is on an HD 1080p resolution.

Any other suggestions very welcome.

I had a similar issue when I first purchased my GSync enabled monitor. I had to download newer monitor drivers straight from the manufacture. You may look into that. It often fixes issues. (and I dont mean display drivers, I'm talking monitor firmware)
