Hello there. I've just installed Windows 8.1 on my brand new PC. Main (and first) disc, which is SSD, is working fine, but I can't see my Seagate hard drive anywhere. I've already checked disc manager and BIOS and it's nowhere to be found. But I am quite positive that disc is alive, since I saw it during Windows installation.

Any ideas about how to deal with this problem? Thanks in advance.

I don't understand. I have seen the disc during Windows installation. 20 minutes later, once system is installed and I check it, it is gone, I can't see it. Neither in Bios or in Windows. Are you trying to tell me that disc died in those 20 minutes?

I checked it and it is plugged in properly, both data lead and power lead. I guess it is faulty then. Anyway it is Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 - 1TB model ST1000DM003.

Ok, so I put it into another PC. Still can't see it in BIOS but I can see it in Windows, where it says that disc is not initialized. When I try to initialize it, it doesn't work (I/O error). So I guess disc is faulty, right?
