Thanks in advance. My specs
Asroxk b650m pro rs
7800x3d
4070s
32gb ddr5
Built my pc over a year ago and it's been running perfectly. I was using 2 ssds, a small 240gb one for my windows installation and 500gb one for extra storage.

Decided to finaly give a nvme m.2 a try after searching to buy a new ssd and discovering I could get one for a similar price.

After initial struggles trying to get windows to reconise the device, I got it up and running. I then proceeded to install Windows onto it, via USB. All was good

I then restarted and was prompted to choose a volume to boot from. One being my old original installation and the other being my new. I then proceeded to format my ssd to use and extra storage but recovery partitions remained and I was still have to choose volume upon starting the pc.

After a lot of messing around, I managed to delete the partitions . From then on my pc has booted straight into windows via my new nvme.

The issue I have is that the drive will not show up in the boot section of my bios, it just shows the 240gb ssd. I've tried removing both my ssds and booting but it still won't show or boot, unless my 240gb drive is connected.

The only way to get it to show is by enabling CSM in my boot options, but then it won't boot. The drive is working great and I have no issue with it apart from it not showing up in my boot option's in the the bios. The model is a patriot 512 gb nvme m.2 gen 3.1.

Frist, did you make sure you were on the latest chipset drivers as well as the latest BIOS version prior to dropping in your new SSD?

Speaking of drives, please list the make and models of all drives and the slots/ports they're populating on the motherboard.

It's also good practice to recreate your bootable USB installer for your OS to rule out any inherent corruption or glitches while also making sure you've got the latest version of the OS installer.

Chipstead yes. My bios hasn't been updated since I had ton

Latest chipset yes, I had to flash the bios when building the pc due to issues with my cpu at the time, not updated since. My 2 regular ssds are plugged into sata 1 and 2. The nvme is install in the hyper m.2 slot. And the windows media was the latest version as of 2 weeks ago

Cruicial bx 240
Cruicial bx 480
Patriot nvme 512gb gen 3

Guessing it's likely due to my bios not being updated since the system was built ?
