Hi
I upgraded my hardware last week, and figured I could use the old parts to build a PC for a friend of mine.
However, when I was done building and turned the PC on, nothing happened.
I can see a green LED on my motherboard when I turn the PSU on, but nothing at all happens when I hit the power on the cabinet.
All parts are bought new or confirmed working as of last week, exept the CPU, wich has been in storage, and had bent pins. I managed to unbend the pins and fit it in the motherboard, however my theory is that it might be the CPU that is the cause of my problems, I am however not sure of how to confirm this.
The system is as follows:
This on has been in storage for 6 months and had bent pins
CPU AMD FX 6300
These worked together last week.
GPU Radeon HD 7970
PSU Chieftec 650w
Motherboard ASUS M5A97 R2.0
RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Hz 8gb (2x4gb)
These where bought new (Friend bought those, cant remember brand names of the top of my head)
Cabinet
HDD
Optical Drive
If anyone could help me with some insight in how to get the system up and running, or if I should buy any replacement parts, I would apriciate any feedback.
