[SOLVED] Can't update Bios for MSI B450 Tomahawk

Hi,

I've been trying to update my bios to latest version, I DL the lastest bios from MSI then transfer to my flashdrive, eject then enter bios hit M-Flash* then get a message saying no bios update file found and just reboots to bios, I've tried a 32gb and 8gb stick in Fat32. Can't understand where I'am going wrong?

Sorry I meant to type M-Flash in OP, and Live update 6 no longer gives me the option to search for a bios update. I do have Flashback button next to the flashback USB port but I thought that was only to go back to older Bios versions?

Are you using front or rear USB ports? I would recommend using the rear ports. Though you say "eject" in your original post, I'm assuming it's still connected when you attempt to restart and enter BIOS.

I'm using the black USB2.0 on the back, Do i need to do anything with the update folder I download because they doesn't seem to be a setup.exe file?

Thanks Wolf, but I've already watch this and I'm doing everything the same. I did update the bios last month and ended up with the new lite version. This is what MSI are giving me.

I downloaded from MSI's support site and got the same filenames (The desktop.ini was not included in the downloaded ZIP). Additionally, my Date Modified dates are back on the 25th of June, but the uncompressed file sizes are identical. Have you tried using the Flash BIOS button to update it (see pg 40 of the motherboard manual)?

Hey,

Just thought I'd let you know I managed to update bios through M-Flash, all I did different was open the file the update came in and just transfered everything inside onto the 8gb memeory stick and M-Flash found it and updated.
