CANT Update Bios from 0703 to 1201 on my Asus P5K motherboard running Windows 8.1 64bit

Hi there, I'm Running Windows 8.1 64Bit with bios version 0703 and I know the latest bios version for my board is 1201

my problem is when I try to use easy flash, it gives me an error that it doesn't recognise the rom file or wrong version.

Asus website has no support for Asus P5K running on windows 8.1 64bit, the only updated bios version I can download is by choosing "Others" in the OS drop down menu.

So do I just leave it on 0703 Since I've had no issues or what else can I do,

If you're not having any issues and don't need any functionality that an upgrade may provide, then I wouldn't upgrade.

I bricked a PK5 using the windows bios upgrade utility(they fixed it under warranty). Use the dos bios upgrade utility.

On older motherboards, Windows BIOS upgrades just too risky.

Download BIOS 1201 to a flash drive formatted as FAT/FAT32, choose any XP as the OS, your just after the ROM file.

Reboot PC, and choose EZ Flash utility from the Fn key options or from with the BIOS.

Then just point the utility to your flash drive.
