I have an Alienware aurora r4 which I bought in march used. It's bios version is currently A3 but I need to get it to the most updated version which would be A11. However, after trying to run the new bios version one by one it said I would have to boot the system with a USB drive first which I did and tried to run the the new bios versions thru it like it said to do and still nothing. Can someone help?

Updating the BIOS is not a simple process for everyone. Doing so and failing can really screw up the computer, which means a LOT of calls to customer support or a LOT of RMA requests/Warranty Claims. Rather than dealing with all that, they simply lock the BIOS to prevent it all.
