Can't use native resolution on Asus VX24AH

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770
OS: Windows 10

I just bought a new monitor which has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440. My graphics card says it can support a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600. I've used the HDMI cable by the monitor and plugged it into my GPU. I found out that Windows is capping the resolution at 1920 x 1200, which makes the screen look blurry. AMD Catalyst (just downloaded) also caps the resolution at 1920 x 1200. I have the most up-to-date drivers for my GPU. What should I do to use the native resolution?

FWIW, when I hook up my Macbook Pro to this monitor, it can pump out the native resolution.

older cards are limited to either displayport or dual link dvi for greater than 1080p resolution

Yeah you need to use Dual Link DVI

This monitor only has two HDMI ports and one VGA. My GPU only has one HDMI and one display port. I don't see any way of putting a dual link DVI between the two.

My motherboard Gigabyte LGA 1151 Z170 GA-Z170-HD3 and CPU Core i5 6500 are fairly new and support HDMI, display port, and DVI. However, even the integrated graphics on this CPU is twice as slow as my 5 year old graphics card. So I don't think I should just throw out the GPU.

get an adapter

displayport > hdmi

make sure it is dual mode compatible
