Hi all,
I have a ASUS z270f motherboard with Samsung 960 250GB and now trying to add WD SN550 250GB SSD (both are m.2 NVMe).

I can plug either SSD into the first slot (closest to CPU) and they will show up in BIOS under drives. But in the second slot in the bottom right corner, under graphics card, I cannot get either SSD to show up in BIOS (or initialize in disk management).

I've tried changing the second slot from [Auto] to PCIE mode in BIOS, which did not resolve the issue. And I don't have any SATA drives plugged in to the MB at all.

I have a ASUS ROG 1080ti if that could possibly have any effect. It seems like the second slot just isn't getting power? But I'm not seeing any directions specifically saying why it wouldn't be receiving power...

It's been a few years since I built the pc so I apologize if there is a glaring step I am missing.

Thanks in advance!

You are not using RAID - correct?

Check physically numbered pages "x" and 1-12 regarding shared SATA ports.

Verify the sockets being used and that the configuration is correct.
thanks for the quick reply. I just read that again and the configurations should be fine. not using RAID. also I forgot to include that I've tried updating BIOS to latest version and it did not resolve the issue.
