Canterwood Prescott support

okay i'm not one of those noob that asks "is my blah blah blah gonna support Canterwood"

It's pretty much for sure the current Canterwoods wont support prescotts but when are the revisions which will support prescotts come?? Any time soon, i kinda need an exact date

asus said there would be support...if they are wrong...then there will most definitly be a class action suite against them for false advertising....

If asus is sure enough to state prescott support...then i think you should beleive them...if they are wrong they could loose millions...

As crashmen always say...the VRM specs have been around for quite a while...manufacturers have to be really lazy not to impliment them...also the p4 boards are supposed to be able to supply 100watts + to the processor...so everything should be fine...

The chipsets support Prescott, but there's probably something in the new pinless package that will prevent them from being used, so you'll likely only see Springdale/Canterwood on the Socket 478 version.

Intel's forthcomming chipsets support DDRII and PCI-Express, so that pretty much makes your entire system obsolete. Don't get going on Intel screwing everyone, because AMD is making similar moves on their new chipsets. It's simply that we needed a higher bandwidth memory solution, and a better card interface.

But it is possible to put PCI and PCI-Express on the same board.
