Question .cap file

When I downloaded and extracted my mother board file for the BIOS, I opened it.
It was not the .cap file I expected.
Is it only a .cap file in the bios or do I have the wrong file?

To update your BIOS, you follow the manufacturers directions completely, to the letter.

Whatever they say to do or extract, in whatever sequence...that is what you do.

I flashed last year but forgot if the file was .cap upon down load. It is in the bios.
I’ll do it again to be sure ; I just thought someone here might have known.

I downloaded to desktop and there was a rename file with the .cap file. I never renamed it and just proceed with the .cap file.

However, it is more than worth the time to go to manufacturers site and read what they advise to do, it is imperative.
