Capture card without composite support

I have an avermedia Live Gamer Portable (C875) capture card, it supports HDMI input, and the AV input cable it comes with is component only. However, virtually every console prior the the seventh generation only supports composite (or RF) and I'm wondering if there is some workaround.

There are some adapters, but from what I can tell, RCA to HDMI adapters are very hit or miss and can be rather expensive. I would prefer a solution under $20 that I don't have to order online and wait for 5 days only to find out the one I got is a brick and wait another 5 days for a replacement.

Solution is to get a capture card that supports composite. You are right, converters are either unreliable or expensive. Cheaper to get a used card on ebay.
