Question Card for VikPea video processing?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

They recommend a NVIDIA RTX 3060 or AMD RX 5700 XT.

The minimum is an RX580 and you can't exactly afford the recommended GPU's(listed above). You could look into an RTX2000series but that would be a incremental upgrade. Where are you located? What is your budget for a GPU purchase?

On second thoughts, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Here's my computer - but the GPU was switched for a lesser model.

Lenovo Legion T5 26IAB7 - Type 90SU

1x 12th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-12700 Processor(Core™ i7-12700)
Memory
2x 8 GB DDR5-4800
Windows 11 Home 64(EN:English)
1x 1TB 7200rpm
1x 1 TB SSD PCIe

I was hoping to stay well under $150, but the two they recommend are way above that. I was wondering if there are any other brands that might be cheaper.

Which PSU did the prebuilt come bundled with? How old is your prebuilt(provided you didn't replace the PSU)? If the PSU was brand new, you're borderline acceptable for the GPU you've linked above. If you have the 550W variant in your prebuilt and the PSU's been in service for a while(and subjected to high temps) then you should be looking at a higher wattage aftermarket PSU.

You've mentioned your budget but what country are you located in? The RX 6700XT and RX 7700 XT are possible replacements. The RTX 3000 series, mind you, aren't good cards since they have high transient load spikes and would warrant you to look into a much higher wattage PSU(apart from a reliably built unit).

Thanks. Here's the model I have (the video card was swapped out). I bought it in March of 2023. Does this answer what you need to know?
