My card reader and card arent showing up on my PC. its a home built PC with a msi x99 SLI plus board and a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case (I think thats all the info that is relevant). Hard drives work when connected and my phone works when connected (charges/PC reads it). I have tried:

1. 3 different card readers, one worked and now it doesnt. Different card readers seem to work at odd weird times, none consistent at all.
2. Device manager has no warning signs next to Mass Storage
3. Drivers are up to date.
4. Card reader light turns on.
5. When plugged in it even says that it is reading and installing drivers for device. But then nothing.

Any help is truly appreciate it. I rely for work a lot on these external peripherals, so any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1| Can you please list your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Case:
OS:
Peripherals:
USB hard drives(you've mentioned):
Card reader's: make and model

2| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date?

3| I'm assuming the card reader's are/were advertised as being plug and play, if not then the drivers for the card readers should be available off of their support site.

I realized what was wrong. In Disk management it would come up but I guess was greyed out in the file explorer. However, I changed the drive letter in disk management and it worked!
