I have a Rosewill 3.5inch Bay Card Reader and actually have a use for it but it won't read cards unless it's the only thing plugged in. I found out that the splitter I have can power both My case USB 3.0 ports and Card Reader USB 3.0 Port (when I have anything plugged into its USB Port it works) but the card reader part that is also controlled by the internal USB3.0 port will not read anything. When I unplug My case ports, the reader can read things, it actually lights up, and the little notification in Device Manager that says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" goes away... Is there any way to bypass this problem? SATA to USB 3.0 Header/Port? USB to Molex? I would love to have My case USBs work and My card reader too...

That is an excellent idea but My GPU is sitting right on top of the only PCIEx1 port and I figured I could use a riser/ribbon cable but It's so close it's almost inside of the slot it's blocking... ASUS is genius at their mobo design, they love to put PCIE ports right next to eachother but give you a free and clear old pci slot

What motherboard do you have? Only one PCIe x16 slot?

I have one, x16, one x1 slot blocked by GPU shroud, and 1 PCI slot... Also I was wondering if there was just GENERIC Card Reader Drivers I can install, I just found out the one of the "USB Root Hub (3.0)" is the one being utilized by My card reader but can't seem to get it to work by uninstalling or disabling the 2nd one... Looks like the card reader part only works if it's taking full power from the USB 3.0 port... I thought disabling or uninstalling would stop the whole connection but it still doesn't show up as anything other than "usb descriptor failed"
