Hello,

I have a Lenovo Y510P with 1TB Seagate SSHD installed as stock. I have my Windows 8.1 OS installed at there. Now that my laptop features a 1.8" mSATA slot, I want too utilize it and add a 80-120 GB mSSD from Samsung or Intel. This mSSD will be used for booting so, I will use my recovery to install Windows to this particular device. First question, is it possible to switch primary disk like this?

Another issue is I have 500 GB's of downloaded games and I have made a lot of progress in some of them. I do not want them to be lost. Some games have 60+ hours of progression in them. I do not want my SSHD to clear itself while progress. Second question, is it possible to keep all my data while switching my primary disk?

Thanks.

Actually you are close to my point but not exactly. I just want my OS to be cloned into SSD. Lets say I have Borderlands 2 (or any game) in my PC SSHD. I want my OS to go to SSD but my all files and Borderlands 2 will stay in the old one. Since I have 500 GB data, my 120 GB SSD will not able to take them.

Yes this is the most possible option. Can I directly install Windows to SSD via using recovery? Or will I have to buy another licence?
