I just purchased an OEM, MSI 6330 motherboard and am unsure how I
should plug the following front panel case connectors to the MB:

Power Switch
Power LED 3 pin
HD LED
Reset Switch
Speaker 4 pin

The following is a pin layout and description from the Gateway website
for this motherboard.

Can anyone tell me which pins the connectors should be plugged to?
I've plugged it the way I think it should be, but it doesn't work.

Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

You should be able to find a manual for your motherboard by following one of
the links on this page (search term "6330").

What items do not work? You can try reversing the leads for the LED's
in case the polarity is backwards. Generally for the power LED the
green is the positive. For the HD LED the red is positive. The reset
and power switch makes no difference.

Thanks, Eric.

But, MSI technical support informed me that they have nothing on their
site for this motherboard. It was a special production for Gateway.
Of course, I didn't know that when I bought 2 of them.

The boards listed on that page were all numbered 6330. I suspect that these
were all slightly different versions based off of the same design. That
said, it could be that the case connectors described in those manuals might
be similar to what you have on your board.

The design's were near same but I think the componets used were different.
all of the connectors were different also and I seem to remember reading
that all branding was removed from these boards. I HAD at one time read
about these boards (when they were FIRST FIRST FIRST moved to Gateway
boxes).

They should all be fairly easy to suss out..
Just dont short any wires or you might damage the led driver.
I would use the HD LED case connector to test everything.

I also have about 5 pdf's from WAY BACK WHEN
I'll describe the pins

1a 1b - 1a (reset switch) -1b (not used)
2a 2b - 2a (reset switch) - 2b (power switch)
3a 3b - 3a (speaker) - 3b (power switch)
4a 4b - 4a (buzzer) -4b (Power Led +)
5a 5b -5a (buzzer) -5b (Power Led + 2)
6a 6b -6a (speaker) -6b (Power Led -)
7a 8b -7a (hdd Led -) -7b (hdd led+)
8a 8b -8a (not used) -8b (not used)
9a 9b -9a (Keylock) -9b (Keylock)

If in confusion about the pins.. 9b would be the one on the bottom right
(the pin closest to the corner of the board)..
This info is found in 6330-2.pdf and I cant tell you if this is the same or
not (you can only really test it and see)

Quick note here.. I dont know anyone who has 6330's (v1's) that still work
sooooooooo
let us know if these things work.. if they dont then I can tell you what nee
ds replacing on it as it was a common production fault.
