Case fan plug in

I plugged in the three holed head into a 4 hole connector on the motherboard for fan 1. Where does the bigger piece plug into? It's not very long to reach to other places. I'd appreciate any help.

its a molex connector that comes from the psu.

If you've already plugged in the smaller connection, you don't need to connect the larger Molex one.. it is an alternative power connection if you don't have any small fan headers left available on the motherboard. Also note that the Molex connection is strictly power and the fan will run at full speed always, whereas the smaller connection has an RPM sensor wire that could allow you to control fan speed thru BIOS or software.

In fact, do NOT plug that larger connector in. The intent is that you should use one power source or the other, but never both.
