Case fan whirring noise and slowing down

Recently ive been having a problem where my case fan starts making the most obnoxious sound, almost like a razor. Whenever i look inside the case i see that the fan has slowed down to a speed that i can follow with my finger, maybe around 80-100 RPM. Sometimes when i turn of my pc and mess around with it a bit, it works again, for max an hour, then starts making the noise again, slowing down, and getting really hot in the center. My CPU fan and everything else work, and the core temperature in the computer hasnt been anything to write home about. I can write down my specs if you guys need it. Could really use the help on this one!
If i need to replace it, i wouldnt mind some help due to me never having to replace a fan before, and in case i have to, a new power supply.

Solution
Most probably shaft/bearing issue, changing to same size fan shouldn't be any problem. They are mostly just fastened with 4 screws accessible from outside. They use too little power to have any influence on PSU.

Should i try and relubricate the bearings? and with what? would machine oil work?

is there a way to tell which sort of fan i need? i looked up the manufacturer of the one i have now and they dont sell them anymore.

You cannot actually access the bearings on such a fan to apply oil. Replace it.

Case fan sizes are specified in terms of the length of one SIDE of the square fan chassis: 80, 90, 120, 140 mm, etc. Look at the wires and connector from the fan - either 3 wires ending in a connector with 3 holes, or a 4-wire (and holes) connector. Whichever you have, get the same type. Since this is a case ventilation fan, you do NOT need the "High Pressure" type - get one designed for maximizing air flow, not pressure.
