Case fan won't slow down.

It's always running at 1500 rpm, even with the 'silent' option enabled in the BIOS. It's the loudest part of my rig. Any ideas?

is it a three pin plug or a four pin plug?

Hmm, 3 pin, there are no other fan headers

I just tried another fan and it's whisper quiet. I really want my thermaltake fan with the LEDs to work though. Could there be a button on the fan or something?

the fan has a three pin plug which means unless it has a built in thermostat it will only run at one speed. the third pin allows the motherboard to MONITOR the fan, pin 4 allows Control of fan speed.
does the fan have a thermostat?
